We wish to thank all our guests for their valued custom, many impromptu and entertaining aperitifs shared around that fountain, and some super comments, all of which are entirely genuine.

"Thank you so much for your hospitality.  The place was perfect for us and you were a wonderful hostess.  Carcassonne is a fairy tale town and we will certainly want to stay here when we come back."

Linda and Carol, Washington, USA (May 2011)

"Just a little note to say thank you for having us the other week and thank you too for all your help and kindness during our stay.  Les Troubadours proved a wonderful base for us and we really enjoyed our time in Carcassonne.
Thank you too for picking us up from the airport and ferrying us back to the train station ... really nice touches that were not expected but much appreciated!  We look forward to returning to Les Troubadours some time soon.
Merci beaucoup!"

Craig, Avril & Hannah, Glasgow, Scotland (April 2011)

"Our initial stay at Les Troubadours was based totally on last minute internet information. We arrived to rain as we stepped off the train one late November afternoon. The warmth and convenience of our cozy, self catering cottage was akin to coming home each evening. After a fulfilling day exploring the multitude of sights within walking distance Amanda would have suggestions to fuel our thirst for further adventures. Subsequent visits have been based on the friendship we established with Amanda. She has helped us show our teenage grandson true, rural France and its culture. We will never travel to France without stopping by to visit Amanda and Les Troubadours. We are forever in your debt Amanda for sharing your world with us. It remains the most awesome experience of our many travels. Cheers to you."

                            Donna & Dave, Edmonton, Canada (2005, 2009, 2011)

"Tula and I would like to say how much we enjoy our stays at Les Troubadours. The cottage is very comfortable and perfectly situated between both the old and new cities. We are made very welcome and this is why we are returning for the 4th year running."

Doug & Tula from Oxfordshire, UK (2008-2010)

"I had the most enjoyable stay at Les Troubadours with three wonderful girlfriends for five nights. The whole environment was overwhelming. The accommodations were perfect and delightful. The owner, Amanda, was outstanding and such a joy to be around. She was most helpful and enthusiastic in explaining the many things to do and see in Carcassonne. I wish our stay could stay could have been longer, and perhaps next time it will be. The apartment was quite spacious and we never felt cramped in the least. It was centrally located and within walking distance to many sites and attractions. Thank you again, Amanda, for enabling us to have a wonderful holiday.

Patti and friends, Florida, USA (March 2011)

"Thank you so very much for a fantastic stay at your lovely house.  You go above and beyond what a hostess is required to provide, and we noticed and are grateful to you for the personalized attention."

the Kellner family, Tucson, Arizona USA (October 2010)

"We have recently been privileged to experience Amanda's hospitality and knowledge of the two Carcassonne cities and surrounding areas. Les Troubadours is perfectly set up and in an excellent location for walking to both cities, the river and the Canal du Midi where you can walk or cycle along the tow paths. We loved Place de la Mutualite, the pretty little square in front of Les Troubadours, with its little water feature under the trees and seats where you can take morning coffee, an evening drink or just sit and reflect on the amazing history you are surrounded by."

Jan, Doonan, Queensland, Australia (October 2010)

"We had a very enjoyable week's stay in this house. The location, on a small square, is peaceful despite being so well placed for visiting the castle and the new town (via a lovely old bridge). There are local shops and restaurants close by. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable. The owner offered us helpful advice on arrival re shops, walks, restaurants etc and there is also a wealth of tourist info provided in the house. We chose not to hire a car, but had plenty to do. As well as exploring Le Cite, we enjoyed a lovely long walk along the Canal du Midi (bus in one direction and feet in the other!), a canal boat trip, an excellent all day wine tour and a train trip to Narbonne.  The owner very kindly picked us up from and took us back to the airport and this was much appreciated."

Ann & Martha, Edinburgh, UK (September 2010)

"We have just spent a really enjoyable week in this lovely old town house nestled below the ramparts of the medieval city and yet only 10 minutes to the heart of the lower city. Amanda was the perfect host, from collecting us from the airport to helping to arrange our car hire. The house was furnished to a high standard with all our needs catered for (including French style shopping bags for bringing back goodies from the market). Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to visit Carcassonne."

Deb and Neil, Nottingham, UK (August 2010)

"We really enjoyed our stay at Les Troubadours this summer and would highly recommend the house to anyone thinking of staying in Carcassonne.  The location is fantastic, just a few minutes walk into the walled Old Town with useful grocery stores, a bakery, pharmacy as well as restaurants just a minutes walk away. The house also offers easy access to lovely walks by the river.  The house was spacious and decorated in a lovely traditional french style and had everything we needed for our stay. Our host, Amanda, could not have been more helpful or accommodating; she both collected and returned us to the airport (greatly appreciated!) and her local knowledge on what to see,  top tips on where and when to eat and local things to do in the area were very helpful. Our children aged 12 & 13 loved it and we found that we ran out of time to do all the things we wanted to do.

the Bolt family, Loughborough, UK (August 2010)

"Les Troubadours was not only a beautiful home-away-from-home, but also a perfect base from which to explore all of Carcassonne – from La Cité, to La Bastide to Le Canal du Midi.  Amanda made us feel like guests in her own home and we thank her immensely for her help and hospitality.  We would return to Carcassonne in a heartbeat, and will be recommending it to everyone we know."                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            Suzanne & Ron, Vancouver, Canada (June 2010)

"We were very warmly greeted by Amanda at the train station upon our arrival in Carcassonne.  Travelling with our two young boys.  Cozy cottage that suited all our needs.  Location is excellent, very close to La Cite and other amenities.  Amanda is an absolute gem.  She accomodated an unexpected and last minute extended stay due to a rail strike.  She then provided us with a great itinerary for exploring Cathar country by car.  Would highly recommend a stay in this lovely property."

the Steckler family, Alberta, Canada (April 2010)

"We had a lovely welcome from Amanda who was very helpful with maps and suggestions for grocery shopping. The house is lovely and feels very homely and was immaculately kept. The house was perfectly situated for exploring La Cite, the river and Bastide Saint Louis which are all within walking distance. We really enjoyed our stay and it was great that Amanda even took us back to the airport."

Julie & Adam, Sheffield, UK (March 2010)

"Estuvimos en el puente de la Constituci n 3 noches, somos 4 de familia y quiero escribir estas l neas para destacar lo confortable que es esta casa , han hecho obras dej ndola totalmente nueva aunque sabiendo respetar el encanto tradicional, adem s esta perfectamente situada en una plaza muy tranquila, al lado del castillo (sub amos a tomar el caf ) y a un cortito paseo del pueblo.  Gracias Amanda por tu hospitalidad, lo recomendar  a mis amigos."

the Garcia family, Barcelona (December 2009)

"This house is an absolute gem, situated in a very quiet courtyard, perfect for our little boy to run about in, but almost under the old city walls. It's less than ten minutes walk to the old city gates, and the same into the Bastide, with a brilliant market and great shops. We travelled on public transport so the location was ideal. The house is very comfortable and well equipped, the kitchen has everything you'd need for cooking up the local produce, and we were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived. We would love to go and stay here again."

Alex & Julia Lovatt (Oct 2009)

"Thank you for all you have done to make our stay comfortable and easy.  We have had a lovely time."

Nicola and Neil Wilson, Alex (3) and James (18ms) - October 2009

"Just to say how much we enjoyed our few days in Les Troubadours and indeed Carcassonne. I am now fascinated and intrigued by anything Cathar so am sure we will be back again. Anyway thanks for all your help, taxi-ing etc. and hope you have a very good season."

Andrea and Jon Ockenden, Suffolk, UK (June 2009)

"Thanks for an absolutely fantastic holiday. We had the very best time in Carcassonne and hope to come back in the future sometime.  Les Troubadours is delightful; beautifully appointed and tastefully decorated - everything we could have wanted and more.  Thank you too for being the most wonderful hostess - your hospitality was fantastic and the giving us a lift back to the airport was more than we could have expected from you... but going that extra mile seems to be the standard you strive for. Can I just say, from our perspective you really achieve it!"

Lesley & Ralph Christie,  Peebles, Scotland (June 2009)

"Thanks again for your suggestions and hospitality and for helping to make our trip such a relaxed one. We loved Les Troubadours, the trip to the gorge and all the other helpful suggestions. All the best and we will be keeping Carcassonne and Les Troubadours in mind for other short breaks."

Liz and Eoghan Kirby, Cork, Ireland (May 2009)

"We certainly enjoyed our recent stay with you at Les Troubadours. The property has good proportions (very comfortable) and is well maintained. The location is excellent for both exploring the City by foot and indeed further afield by hire car. The Aude region is both varied and very beautiful.

Many thanks for your sightseeing suggestions and kind assistance with the local car hire, (which proved to be really good value) and the airport.

We would certainly recommend a stay at Les Troubadours and hope to see you again in the future."

Steve and Glynis Lynch, Ruthin, Wales (May 2009)

"We had a great time at Les Troubadours and will certainly recommend it to friends. It had everything we needed and so close to the old city (as well as bread shop and cafes) - an ideal base from which to explore Carcassonne. Your pick up and drop off service to the airport was very much appreciated."

Aidan, Holly, & Hugh, Edinburgh (May 2009)

"Many thanks, once again, for helping to make our short break in Carcassonne so memorable (and easy, from a practical point of view). The house is lovely and had everything we wished for.  We have already started recommending Les Troubadours to anyone who will listen to us."

Jonathan & Marissa Bye, Norfolk UK (April 2009)

"Thank you once again for your wonderful hospitality and your very kind chauffeuring.  We hope to come back to Carcassonne again and would certainly love to stay at Les Troubadours when we do and will recommend you to anyone we hear of considering a trip there."

Gillian Campbell, Dublin, Ireland (March 2009)

"Thank you Amanda for all your help, be it chauffering, directions and even nursing!, which made our stay in Carcassonne so enjoyable. Your gite is perfectly located, so peaceful yet convenient for so many activities - sightseeing, walking by the canal or river, cycling, skiing, concerts and just enjoying a coffee in the market square. Carcassonne and your gite are perfect for a memorable holiday."

Richard and Janet Comber,  Prestbury, Cheshire UK (February 2009)

"Thank you for a fantastic time in your very family friendly holiday home. We had everything that we required and more! Your hospitality and helpfullness are first class, and we would highly recommend you to anyone who is considering a trip to Carcassonne.
We will certainly be back!"

"We had a wonderful time. We loved the cottage and the city was beautiful and we would like to come back again. Thank you very much."   (and so they did!)

Doug and Tula Miller Oxfordshire, UK  (June 2008)

"We thoroughly enjoyed staying in your pretty little house.  My uncle really fell in love with this place!  We all had a wonderful time in Carcassonne and we thank you for all the good care you gave us: airport transport, nicely equipped historic house and not the least your helpfulness, be it for a missing kitchen utensil or for ideas where to go for the best bread or for an excursion.  You are a wonderful hostess.  Thank you."

Linda Jansen and family, Borgerhout, Belgium  (June 2008)

"We loved staying at Les Troubadours and I'm sure we will come again. Thanks so much for collecting us from the airport and returning us there.  East Midlands and Carcassonne Airports have gone to the top of our hassle free flying list - this is the first time we have tried a short break with hand luggage only - we are keen to repeat the experience! Thanks for looking after us so well, we had a wonderful time."

Michael & Julia Jones, Worcester, UK (February 2008)

"We have really enjoyed ourselves and hope to send you many guests in the future."  (And so they did....thank you sincerely.)

Lois & Russell Hargreaves, Middlesex, UK (Sept 2007)

"As was expected and hoped for, we got safe home, with a lot of memories and a profound sense of gratitude for your kind attentions during our stay in Carcassonne. The only misfortune that we had to leave your place all full of sun, to arrive here in the rain. As I promised you when we departed, we'll not fail to recommend your location to everyone possibly interested. Furthermore, we wish you every kind of happiness in the beautiful site you chose to live in.

Hugo & Marijke van Hoecke, Sint-Amands, Belgium (May 2007)

"Thanks!  Les Troubadours is simply wonderful.  The house has everything required to make for a super, hassle free, holiday.  Thanks for your kindness and help."

                                                from Groby, Leicestershire, England, UK

"We had a lovely time and that was in part due to the care you'd taken to make the gite so welcoming.  We usually avoid hotels they're so impersonal and so tend to go for B&B's etc. 10 out of 10 for the personal touch.  Thank you for the cassoulet and everything else."

Annmarie and Paul Carey, Manchester, England, UK (January 2007)

"We can think of no suggestions to improve your utterly charming gite.  It is beautifully and very generously fitted out.  It's geographical position in this pretty little traffic free square just off the rue Trivalle is marvellous.  We could walk to the Cité and castle and to the old bridge and river in minutes.  And the rue Trivalle was an added pleasure full of historic buildings.  We have had a lovely holiday here.  Many thanks."

Gillian and Stuart Milner, West Sussex, England, UK (May 2006)

"We enjoyed our time in Carcassonne.  Helped no doubt by your lovely gite and your kind assistance.  We would recommend Les Troubadours to anyone.  Very clean, well maintained, and central to everything.  Best wishes"

Diane and Darrol Sachs, Darwin, Australia (Oct 2005)

"Thanks very much for a truly unique experience.  The house is a fabulous way to explore an amazing town while feeling part of the history.  You have given us a wonderful holiday.  I will be recommending you to my family and friends."

Barry Quinlan, Pamela Rogers, & Jack, Dublin, Ireland (July 2005)

"We stayed at LesTroubadours the last week of June, 2005 and thoroughly enjoyed our visit.  The townhouse was perfect, clean, freshly renovated but still felt very authentic.  The location could not be better, we walked to La Cite, the Bastide and all around the Old City .  Restaurants, shops, bike rental and groceries were within a short walk.  The Sheridans could not be more helpful with planning road trips or outings.
